ELOUERA HOUSE

Photographer: Simon Whitbread

The materiality and formal composition of Elouera House with a sandstone base, timber upper structure and pavilion style metal roof draws on the vernacular of ‘beach cottages’ that give the Northern Beaches locality its distinctive character. The detailing creates a building that is well articulated and in keeping with the tradition of Australian beach side cottage buildings.

The proposed dwelling is a two storey house containing 3 bedrooms, a rumpus room & study. The lower level contains a study, a guestroom with an ensuite, laundry, powder room and open plan living/dining/kitchen to the rear with opens onto a large entertaining area that is covered by a separate pavilion structure. The upper level contains 2 bedrooms, a rumpus and a large family bathroom. There is a double garage underneath the north eastern corner of the house with internal access to main living level.
