HAPTIC ARCHITECTURE

Our architecture has an underlying interest in the relationship between the assemblage of materials [tectonics]; and the spatial, emotive and sensory experience of architecture. Our projects push the idea that architecture heightens our experience of being-in-the world. Our projects aim to enrich the lives of our clients by utilising materials and surfaces that we can touch and feel, to create experiences of spaces that have feeling.

 

ORGANIC ARCHITECTURE

Our architecture is grounded in the idea that human habitation and the natural world are inter-related, and that the relationship between the two should be harmonious and symbiotic. This idea creates the ordering principles for our projects. We start with the site; the client; and the climate, from there the spatial composition and building function respond. The resulting form is one with an inherent logic and ordered simplicity, formed from the inter-related environmental and human needs.

 

VERNACULAR ARCHITECTURE

Our architecture is not a style or aesthetic, but rather a way of thinking which allows for different typologies to develop as a response to site and place. This in turn generates a certain architectural language and material response which strives to connect the building, client and environment together. Whether it’s a courtyard house or a verandah house; a delicate timber cottage or solid masonry home, our response is generated from the site and a sense of place.

Studio Haptic offers full architectural service from the initial concept design through to construction completion for a diverse range of projects.

Studio Haptic is dedicated to every project we are involved in. We offer not only a high level of service in terms of design and architecture, but also a high level of customer service. When we take on a project we are highly involved in all aspects of the project and aim to make the process of building your home a smooth and enjoyable one.

INNOVATION

We believe each project represents an opportunity to research, innovate and work in close collaboration with clients, consultants and contractors to create the best possible design outcome for the client, the site and the environment.

VISUALISTION

Studio Haptic works with the latest Building Information Modelling [BIM] software, utilising Revit at every part of the design process. This allows us to collaborate with our clients and consultants efficiently and provide a clear 3D visualisation of the project.

LOCATION

Our projects are primarily located on the Northern Beaches and Inner West areas of Sydney. In addition to our projects in Sydney we also have projects on the far south coast of NSW and Brisbane. Whether it be small residential alterations and additions; large new homes and developments; or small landscape or interior design projects, we can assist you.

Our process is generally divided into three stages; Design, Documentation & Contract Administration. Depending on the size, scale and complexity of the project will determine the recommended stages to be engaged.

  • STAGE 1B – DESIGN DEVELOPMENT [DD]
  • STAGE 2A – PLANNING APPROVAL [DA/CC OR CDC]
